A Honduran national, Ever Calderon Ramirez, has been arrested for unlawful reentry into the United States after being deported twice. Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack announced the arrest in Concord.

Calderon Ramirez, 27, who was residing unlawfully in Manchester, appeared in federal court charged with one count of unlawful reentry. According to charging documents, he was previously deported on April 7, 2017, and September 28, 2018. On September 22, 2024, law enforcement encountered him in New Hampshire operating a moped with two young children without helmets.

The charge carries a potential sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement led the investigation into Calderon Ramirez’s case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Hunter is handling the prosecution.

This arrest is part of Operation Take Back America, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration and combating cartels and transnational criminal organizations. The operation utilizes resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

It is important to note that all details in the charging documents are allegations at this stage. Calderon Ramirez is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
